October 2023. Bokod, Benguet - In a heartwarming tribute to the Elderly Filipino Week Celebration this October, thirteen senior citizens hailing from various barangays took an oath as officials-for-a-day under the "Senior Citizens Officer-for-a-Day (SCOFAD)" Program.
Mayor Hon. Basilia N. Yangyang and Vice-Mayor Hon. Beatrice Rose C. Bayeng, alongside a dedicated team of Senior Citizens Officers, assumed key roles for the day. The temporary officials include SB Members Hon. Marilyn B. Colegio, Hon. Roy B. Lupoz, Hon. Mely S. Delico, Hon. Benito I. Alperez, Hon. Peter A. Mayawin, Hon. Victorio A. Agustin, Hon. Elbert C. Dami, Hon. Melba C. Selmo, IPMR Hon. Gertrudes W. Saguid, LnmB President Hon. Josephine L. Batanes, and SKF President Hon. Helena S. Velasco. This symbolic gesture not only pays homage to the valuable contributions of the elderly but also serves as a recognition of their wisdom and experience in the community. The SCOFAD initiative, led by Mayor Yangyang, is a testament to the municipality's commitment to inclusivity and respect for its senior citizens.
