Bokod, Benguet - November 21, 2023
In a pivotal gathering at the SB Session Hall in Poblacion, Bokod, the 73rd Regular Session of the 11th Sangguniang Bayan unfolded on November 21, 2023, under the leadership of Honorable Atty. Erik Donn Ignacio, the Municipal Vice Mayor, and Presiding Officer.
Legislative Actions Taken:
I. Approved/Concurred Resolutions:
The assembly concurred with the appointment of Atty. Jevan Solano Mesa as the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) and Ms. Arlene Dizon Lamsis as the Municipal Social Welfare Development Officer (MSWDO) for the municipality.
Commendation was extended to Police Lieutenant George Mariano Cupido, the Acting Chief of Police at Bokod Municipal Police Station, for exemplary service to the community.
A request was made to the Office of the Provincial Governor, Honorable Melchor D. Diclas, M.D., Benguet Province, for copies of estimated damages caused by Ambuklao Dam to lands above the contour line.
Amendments were approved, including changes in the name of the Chairperson of the Committee on Youth, Sports Development and Arts, Co-Chairperson of the Committee on Infrastructure, and membership on the Committee on Barangay Affairs.
II. Enacted Municipal Ordinances:
Municipal Ordinance No. 17, series of 2023, titled "Adopting the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) of the municipality of Bokod for 2020-2024," was enacted. This move aligns with Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 001 series of 2017 from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
III. Privilege Hour:
In attendance during the session were Atty. Jevan Solano Mesa and Ms. Arlene Dizon Lamsis, the recently appointed MENRO and MSWDO, respectively. This presence was in relation to their recent appointments.
IV. Other Matters:
Various important matters were referred to the respective SB Standing Committees for thorough review and appropriate actions.
