In a tightly contested election held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the SB Session Hall in Poblacion, Bokod, Ms. Mia C. Selmo of Barangay Tikey secured victory, emerging as the newly elected President of the Bokod Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation. The elections, organized by the Commission on Elections-Bokod and overseen by Election Officer Madam Anita Navalta, MLGOO Madam Janet Ating, and Secretary to the Sanggunian Sir Benedict Apilis, saw Ms. Selmo triumph over three other contenders.
Competing against Ms. Laxmi Diclas of Barangay Karao, Ms. Kyshelle Jude Rafael of Barangay Ekip, and Mr. Frayjohn Pistola of Barangay Ambuklao, Ms. Selmo's victory signifies a significant mandate from the youth in the community.
For the Vice President position, Mr. Charlie Anselmo of Barangay Poblacion emerged victorious over Ms. Whyda Gosgos of Barangay Bila through a coin toss, as both candidates garnered an equal number of votes, each receiving five.
The newly elected officers of the SK Federation include Ms. Shaira Marie Lacquias of Barangay Bobok-Bisal as Secretary, Mr. Ceasar Rex Catao of Barangay Daklan as Treasurer, and Mr. Richard Guinaran of Barangay Pito as Auditor.
The oath-taking ceremony for the new SK leaders was conducted promptly after the proclamation, with Honorable Mayor Thomas K. Wales Jr. officiating the ceremony.
The election of the new set of SK Federation Officials followed the Sangguniang Kabataan Mandatory Training (SKMT) conducted on the same day for the recently elected SK barangay officials.
